Celebrate Plant a Flower Day, March 12
It’s finally here! Spring is in the air. Today serves as another reminder spring has almost sprung – it’s Plant a Flower Day!
While the origins of this annual “holiday” are unknown, Plant a Flower Day is always celebrated on March 12. I think spring blooms just shout ‘summer is on the way’.
Although cold temperatures or other challenges may prevent many of us from planting outside at this time of year, starting seeds indoors is an option for anyone who wants to benefit from the “flower power”.
Many wildlife-friendly perennials benefit from a head start. Plant seeds indoors—using pots you make yourself. Starting seedlings inside gives them a head start to summer growing season, and also is a great family activity!
“Flowers always make people better, happier and more helpful; they are sunshine, food and medicine to the soul.”
In honor of National Plant a Flower Day, grab some seeds, get down and get your Green Thumb ON!!
