Today we celebrate all Postal Workers on National Postal Worker Day. This day is set aside so that we can appreciate and thank all the postal workers that work without fail to make sure that we send and receive packages with the utmost care and ease for us.
Postal employees suffer some of the harshest working conditions, yet they keep on six days a week. They often work in weather conditions that we don’t even want to see let alone be outside working in. Below zero temps, we choose to stay inside where it is warm, postal employees deliver our mail out in the cold temps!
Across the United States, many postal workers will walk an average of 4 to 8 miles carrying a full load of letters and packages and delivering them to our doorsteps. Postal workers have to work rain or shine, or honestly we say rain or snow or sleet or hail or thunderstorms or blizzards or immense heat and in Michigan they can work in all 4 seasons in one day!
